He’s a shameless publicity and clout chaser. He has missed his window of opportunity to the big time. He’s now just another former actor/singer/ minor celebrity that real life is catching up with. All the pro noun re-pronouncements, interviews and wedding announcements were just a cry from the wilderness to try and catch that last bit of relevance and residual popularity.

There are usually three possible reasons for the face bloat.
Caveat, I haven't seen this performance here)
1. Weight gain. To me he'd have to put on much more weight overall for his face to be this bloated.
2. Initial botox or filler injection reaction which calms after a bit.
3. Medical steroids. Not body building, but he may have some medical condition that requires them on occasion which he can't help. i.e. corticosteroids- Prednisone etc.

Definitely not weight gain. His torso does not look filled out enough to support a head that size.

I’d be comfort eating too in 2025.

The Hedwig musical starts with the bi-racial he/she/they Seann Miley Moore taking the lead that was so brutally ripped from Hugh. It starts in Hugh’s hometown of Adelaide before touring.

Oh, and Hugh turns 40.

It's probably just his ego and sense of self importance

But is it the same producer/production company or some different outfit? Whatever the case, getting a big name like Sean Miley who every knows will pull in big crowds.
The original Hedwig Sydney fiasco was just that. It was very unfair on Hugh that they caved to a fringe bunch of idiots.

I had a look at the clip in question. It's not weight gain. He looks relatively slim to normal.
To me it's cheek fillers. They are so puffed that he's practically squinting with his eyes. Presumably it will settle down. It kind of makes sense that he would be suffering natural collagen loss with age (40) which hollows out the cheeks and you start to get that natural droopy look. He's had botox too but to me it's the cheek filler that's causing the weird look.
