| Managed to catch a episode during the livestream. Would say the animation is fine, it is cg anime that reminded me of the animations of western cartoons. The story does still make you curious of what is next since the episode ended on a mystery but I was not really fond of the the main character, the random character named lall that showed up nor Honoka who were another crazy main character in this episode. I would say the only character I would continue to watch for is the friend of the main character since he seemed crazy and fun. The overpowerness shown by the main character in the first battle also lessens my interest in any battles onward... |
| From the creative mind of game director Yoko Taro (who brought you the Nier games), comes a 3DCG anime from a no-name studio of people vying through a phone app to become god. Being a normal school student, Goro Ono gets himself into a game where from the outside, it looks the same as it has ever been, hanging out with his friend of Yutaka Akitsu and classmate-cum-idol Honoka Sawa whom he has an obsession and crush for. But a message on his smartphone wishing for something, and things take a turn for the worse from helping a fellow, to somehow unceremoniously posting a suicide video. To think that Ono's dream could come true, out comes a mysterious demon girl who's the Karma God, who tells him that he's about to get his wish fulfilled by God. But Honoka came to him...with an obsession to kill, and that left him bewildered on what's going on. Reality hits Ono in the face, and trusting Lall for his own powers, he defeats Honoka...but he's also able to see her normally...? The world twists ever stranger when someone is killed for granting wishes. This is such a strange show, though to be expected of Yoko Taro. And unlike Tomodachi Game or even the 5 Seconds Before Battle anime, this one has a different game-mechanic like element to it that differs from any high stakes anime we've seen so far. | The new anime, written by Jin and designed by Atsushi Ohkubo, with both Yoko Taro and Ryo-timo involved, feels like ex-arm was tailor-made to challenge my tastes. However, I'd be dishonest if I said I didn't find the first episode oddly enjoyable. I can totally understand anyone giving this show a wide berth, but for those who are curious, it's surprisingly compelling in its own peculiar way. The narrative is intriguing, the character dynamics are entertaining, and the pacing of the first episode was spot-on, never leaving a dull moment. While there are some truly eccentric moments scattered throughout, somehow, it all comes together and works. |

| Call me weird all you want, but I really like the style used here. That being said, this sucks. The animation is wonky at best, only important characters have a texture (which doesn't mean it has to be bad, but they made it look awful), and maybe most importantly - the whole damn plot, the characters, the writing and the sound design are absolute and utter garbage. |

| Seemingly a typical death game, but with some interesting elements - weird weapons, strange power ups and inconvenient cooling-off times, which complicate additionally the already strange rules. Another aspect is the price which the participants must pay - from bad luck, through further distorting the world around them to loosing months and probably even years from their life span. Somehow a negative ingredient are the weird and simplistic 3D CGI visuals, which remind me of the donghua Pause! Let Me Check the Walkthrough First (which is weird too, but more of a comedy and parody). Tho those somehow work way better than the bland 2D and lacking animation of lets say Dark Ghatering. Also the VAs are doing a great job fleshing out the characters. Count me intrigued. |

Who designed their school uniform? I know it's easier to animate a sleeveless shirt in CG, but what high school has EVER had a sleeveless uniform shirt? Combined with the suspenders and shorts and tights, it looks more like a uniform for a sleezy nightclub, not a high school lmao.

| I'm not interested in Nier Automata so much, but I like Drakengard 3 very much for its character design and music, though the game itself was not good at all. As for this show, the story is mediocre and 3D CG is under par. I hope the story develops unexpected direction. |
| Poor quality animation though not terrible and i dont hate the style aesthetics entirely. Story isnt bad i kind of like it. The cat being ran over seemed unnecessary and no one reacted (likely animation direction fail) though i guess it possibly is some plot point. I just feel sorry for Gorou only getting to jerk off in front of that girl when that probably wasnt what he had in mind so i think that actually possibly was a case of censorship. Sound quality in some parts seemed poorly mixed. |
